Frequently Asked Questions

How does the Schengen calculator work?

Visa Tracker uses the official 90/180-day rolling window calculation. For any given day, it looks back 180 days and counts how many of those days you spent in the Schengen Area. This is the exact same math that border agents use. Unlike simple counters that reset on a fixed date, the rolling window continuously shifts forward, which is why manual tracking often leads to miscounts.

Is my data safe?

Yes. All your trip data is stored locally on your device. We don't collect any data, don't use analytics, and don't have servers that your data touches. If you enable iCloud sync (optional, off by default), your data syncs through Apple's encrypted infrastructure. We never see it.

How do I import trips from photos?

Go to Settings > Import from Photos. The app reads GPS coordinates and dates from your photo metadata (EXIF data) to reconstruct where you've been. It only reads the metadata — it never accesses or stores your actual photos. You'll see a preview of detected trips before confirming the import.

What's included in Pro?

Pro unlocks all 31 rulesets (Schengen, tourist visas, tax residency, digital nomad visas, golden visa rules, and advisory limits), the Trip Planner for simulating future trips, photo import, Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets, Siri integration, and CSV/PDF export for your accountant. You can go Pro monthly ($3.99/mo), yearly ($29/yr), or with a one-time Lifetime purchase ($79).

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are managed through Apple. Go to iOS Settings > [Your Name] > Subscriptions > Visa Tracker, then tap Cancel Subscription. You'll keep access to Pro features until the end of your current billing period. Lifetime purchases are non-recurring and never need to be cancelled.
